A full body detox, or cleanse, is a plan that people follow in an effort to eliminate toxins from the body.

Toxins, such as poisons or pollutants, are substances that negatively affect your physical and mental health. Toxins also may be stopping you from loosing weight.

The body can already eliminate these substances on its own through the liver, kidneys, digestive system, and skin.

Whereas a healthy body can optimally detoxify, so many things we confront daily — the food we eat, the air we breathe, lifestyle habits, and prescription drugs — can make those toxins accumulate, overwhelming your body’s defences. That’s where a body detox program can help.

Incorporating helpful nutrients may help boost weight loss, improve body composition, recover lost energy and better overall health.

The symptoms of intoxication

  • Chronic digestive issues
  • Unexplained Fatigue
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Skin issues (acne, rosacea, eczema or any other)
  • Allergies
  • Muscle/joint aches and pains
  • Cravings / Blood sugar imbalances
  • Insomnia
  • Bad breath/body odor/foul-smelling stool
  • Increased belly fat
  • Fluid retention/congestion
  • Mental confusion
  • Chronic headaches
  • Menstrual issues/PMS
  • Dark circles under eyes

If you can apply at least 4-5 symptoms to yourself, you need to take care of the cleanliness of your body and spend some time on body cleansing procedures.

When starting a body detox, you'll first need to lighten up your toxin load. Eliminate alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars, and saturated fats, all of which act as toxins in the body and are obstacles to your healing process.

How to cleanse your body naturally

1. Drink plenty of clean water (at least 2-2,5 l).

2. Drink at least 0.5 l of freshly squeezed fruit or vegetable juice (for example apple, carrot and ginger).

3. Eat lots of fresh fruits and berries (best fruits for this are apricots, peaches, melons, mangoes, kiwi, papaya, red grapes, blueberries and citrus fruits).

4. Eat plenty of organically grown vegetables (beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, and seaweed are excellent detoxifying foods).

5. Eat biologically valuable foods in small doses (brown rice, millet, fatty fish, almonds, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, eat pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds, use extra virgin olive oil and cold pressed seed oil).

6. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.

7. Supplement your natural detoxification processes with plant-based food supplements.

8. Breathe deeply to allow oxygen to circulate more completely through your system.

9. Sweat in a sauna so your body can eliminate waste through perspiration

10. Transform stress by emphasising positive emotions.

11. Exercise. Spend at least 15-30 minutes walking in the fresh air every day.

12. Have a good quality sleep.
